“Taste and see that the Lord is good.  How happy is the man who takes refuge in Him!”  Psalm 34:8.

Currently, our weak economy is causing a little uncertainty to develop in all of our minds.  What does tomorrow hold not only for me but for this entire nation?  I find myself not only wondering about my future but the future of my children.  What will America look like when they start having children?  Will it still be a country worth living in and dying for or will it be so weak and morally corrupt that we leave it for the promises of another land?

If I am not careful, I can become so anxious about the above questions that lose sight of who is in charge.  I don’t know what is going to happen tomorrow, next month, or next year and that bothers me at times.  I like being in charge of things!  I am just wired that way.

Trying to control something you are not intended to control leads to destruction.  I want to be that “happy man” who takes refuge in God and lives by the faith that produces.  You can live alot healthier when you let God take over the control panel of your life.  Believe me, I struggle with this daily.

  1. control- it’s hard to give up control. but who better to be in charge than our loving Heavenly Father who has plans for us bigger than we can imagine if only we let Him lead.

    i love you, Joe!

  2. God grant me the serenity
    to accept the things I cannot change;
    courage to change the things I can;
    and wisdom to know the difference.

  3. Joey,

    What encouragement you give! Thanks so much for reminding us just who is in control and that we are in His hands. Therein lies peace and safety.
