On Thursday night, we watched as the polls closed and returns were announced by our local news channels.  It didn’t take long for us to get that victory feeling.  Dad won every county in his district and ended the night getting 60 (+) percent of the vote.

In his victory speech, dad acknowledged the victory briefly and then moved on thank everyone involved in helping him reach his destination.  He then switch his focus to the challenges that lay ahead.  He will now engage in a battle to beat Lincoln Davis.  Lincoln is the Democratic incumbent that currently holds the seat.  Unseating an incumbent is difficult and it will take a lot of focus, resolve, and prayer.  Dad knows that the road ahead will be long and hard.  He also knows that it is in God’s hands and that his calling is to lay it all on the line and let God take it from there.  I came across the below verse today and plan to read it often as we work with dad in his campaign over the next few months.  Please continue to pray for dad and our family as we start the next leg of this race.

2 Chronicles 15:7  “But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!”
